Party by the Pool

Ok. So you had a pool installed for all of the health benefits of swimming. We know. The decision to invest in an in-ground pool was completely based on your desire to create a more health-conscious environment for your family. Yeah, yeah. It had nothing to do with the fact that a swimming pool makes for a great party area. Nothing at all. Wink, wink.

Look, we all understand the benefits that swimming and water exercises deliver. But come on, you got the pool because there is nothing better than a good pool party. Pool parties don't have to be just during the summer though. If you've already put away the floaties and the pool toys, drag 'em back out. Holiday pool parties can be splashing fun with just a few tweaks here and there. Hold your own successful pool party with these tips:

  • One of the most needed items will be heat. Keep your pool water temp nice and toasty with a gas heater, unless you're lucky enough to live in the south where temperatures remain relatively mild even through the winter. In which case, simply rely on your pools heat pump.
  • Get the hot tub going to keep guests happy and warm.
  • Add gas heater stands around your pool deck to supply warmth to guests who don't want to get wet. These heaters can be rented from your local party supply and rental.'
  • If you have the room, add volleyball or badminton courts for poolside entertainment.
  • Spruce up your pool with custom pool mats by Aqua Art to create a theme for your party. Floating candles or candles set poolside can help add ambiance.
  • And of course, it wouldn't be a party without signature cocktails and plenty of appetizers. Keep all serving and drink ware away from the water and make sure that it is unbreakable for the safety of your guests.
